Our Story

Moving through life transitions was — TOTAL CHAOS.

We had to act fast after losing both my father and husband 63 days apart in 2014. Between closing down a business, legal affairs, and credit card companies calling, we were living in a mess.  After searching through the internet and making multiple phone calls, I realized that there was really no one who could help me. I found myself juggling many balls in the air at the same time (all the while I was working), and I needed a team. Plus, it took me 840 days to settle both estates. I started LOLA to help families get prepared and organized ahead of time, as well as help during a life crisis.

LOLA (named after my mother, who died in 1999), was created to help families prepare for unexpected life transitions because we know the feelings of when you are moving through a life transition how overwhelming it can be. We guide families by helping them to initiate conversations with loved ones, gather all important documentation, and assist with referrals to Trusted resources.

We understand thinking and talking about a life transition
can be uncomfortable, which is why many families are
left unprepared and unprotected.

Most families are unaware of how much work it takes when a life transition occurs and the amount of stress it puts on everyone affected. Not knowing what to do or how to handle all of the details can leave family members feeling stuck, vulnerable, and unable to grieve in the process and move forward, creating unnecessary emotional trauma at an already difficult time. Unless families are prepared and protected in advance, they run the risk of falling prey to companies or individuals that can mislead them or take advantage of the situation. We believe that every family deserves to move through a life transition without the additional burden of fear or stress.

A Soft Place to Land when you need help.

LOLA was founded in 2017 by Esther Cardenas Pipoly, along with her children Nathan and Adyn, to support families through life’s transitions, such as cancer diagnoses, the loss of loved ones, or estate closures. The organization has grown into a place where caregivers and families can connect with professionals for timely guidance. Despite expanding services to include all life transitions, LOLA remains driven by its commitment to supporting families.

LOLA provides virtual support throughout Texas, and across the country.
